Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will, at a basic level, be able to:
- reflect on and discuss the role of the coach from different scientific perspectives
- discuss the link between coaching philosophy and coaching practice in judo.
Course Content
The course will discuss the science and philosophy of coaching and how the role of coach is perceived by different individuals and groups. Emphasis will be on critical reflection and development of students’ own coaching philosophy and their practical applications, with thought given to how these relate to concepts such as leadership, group dynamics, communication, decision-making and moral dilemmas.

Written assignment.

The course is offered in collaboration with the Swedish Judo Federation.
It cannot be included in a Dalarna University degree that includes Coaching Powerlifting, 2 credits.
