Collaboration Start
Formal collaboration between JUFE and Dalarna University started in 2014 after representatives from Higher Management within the two institutions paid visits to each other. The institutions found a common basis of understanding within education and research within the academic field of Computer Sciences and System Sciences/Informatics.
3+1 Programme
In 2014, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, and this signing was followed by an application for a 3+1 programme. JUFE prepared the application and sent it jointly with DU to the Ministry of Education of P.R. China, which approved it in August 2015.
JUFE students, who apply for and are admitted to the programme, are able to complete their fourth academic year in Dalarna. Students who complete the courses at both JUFE and Dalarna may receive double bachelor´s degrees. Furthermore, students are eligible for master-level programmes and PhD studies in Dalarna.
The first students were admitted to the 3+1 programme at JUFE in the autumn of 2016. Scholars from Dalarna were involved in preparing students at JUFE, and several preparatory meetings have taken place.
A board that has been set up to work with the collaboration between the universities will meet on an annual basis.
In autumn 2019, Dalarna University received the first 13 JUFE students on campus.
