Regulatory Control

The Agency for Digital Management (Myndigheten för digital förvaltning) is responsible for regulating the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services. If you are not satisfied with how we have dealt with your views, you can submit a complaint to them.

Information on the Accessibility of the Learning Management System Canvas

In certain respects, Canvas meets with the requirements of the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services; however, some issues remain:

  • Some documents (docx, pdf, pptx) may have low text or image contrast, may be untagged and/or may be missing the correct formatting.
  • Some pdf documents have been scanned in such a way that makes it impossible to convert them to alternative formats.
  • Visual descriptions, sub-titles and text versions of video are missing in some cases.
  • Some pictures are missing image descriptions (alternative text).
  • Some course rooms may include an unnecessarily high number of clicks for keyboard navigation.

We work to resolve issues with accessibility on an ongoing basis.

Tests on Canvas

We have carried out an internal review of Canvas. Instructure, the provider of Canvas, has also conducted a review of the programme’s accessibility. Their review was produced using Blackboard’s accessibility tool Ally.
