Calling in Sick and Outlook Auto-Reply
- On the first day you are sick, inform your immediate manager that you will be absent from work.
- On your first day of sick leave, notify the switchboard (023-77 80 00) or support@du.se (use your du.se mail) so that your absence can be registered in Primula. State how long you expect to be absent from work (fewer than 7 days) or if you will be on sick leave for more than 7 days. Do not give details about your health.
- Add an auto-reply in Outlook and redirect your work phone number.
- If you get sick while on vacation, follow the same procedure as if you were at work.
Sick for 1-7 Calendar Days
The University pays your sick-leave pay. You do not need to provide a note from your doctor/other medical documentation to the University.
Sick for 8-14 Calendar Days
The University pays your sick-leave pay. You need to provide a note from your doctor/other medical documentation: this you give to your immediate manager and the finance officer for your university school. Do not send documentation to support@du.se.
Sick for More Than 14 Calendar Days
The University no longer pays your sick-leave pay. You yourself need to apply for sickness benefit from Sweden’s social insurance office, Försäkringskassan. You still need to provide a note from your doctor/medical documentation to your immediate manager.
Once You Are Well
Register your return to work in Primula. If you have not been sick for the whole time during your absence, report your circumstances in the message box (meddelanderuta) in Primula.
