Board games used to strengthen key sustainable development competencies

Dalarna University has invested in teaching materials and board games to help students develop key competencies regarding sustainable development.

The game "Dilemma", which focuses on constructive debate and values-focused thinking, has been used in several educational programs.

The photograph shows students from the Bachelor's program in Sustainable Energy Systems and the Master's program in Energy-Efficient Built Environment in the midst of a "Fishbanks" session, a game which highlights systems thinking, negotiation, and the so-called "tragedy of the commons" concept.
