Alessandra Giglio is “Universitetsadjunkt” (Lecturer) at the University of Dalarna (Sweden). She is also adjunct professor at the Free University of Bozen and at the University for Foreigners of Siena (Italy).

Background

She has been a researcher at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and at the University of Parma and, previously, she has been a Research Fellow at Institute of Educational Technology of the National Research Council of Italy. She is currently developing research projects at the Free University of Bozen. She holds a European PhD in "Languages, Cultures and Technologies" from the University of Genoa, where she previously graduated with a thesis on Teaching Italian as a foreign language and where she specialized in the same discipline with a Master’s Degree.  She created examination papers worldwide for the PLIDA certification of the Dante Alighieri Society and she is currently examiner for the International Baccalaureate Organization. She had been examiner for PLIDA, CILS and CELI.

Teaching

I teach Italian for Beginners courses and I use a Communicative Approach to help students communicating in Italian.
