Annika Vänje is docent in technology and health at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and has a PhD in work science - industrial work environment at Luleå Technical University.

I have been the main or co-supervisor for several doctoral students up to the doctoral and/or licentiate degree at KTH. Today I am the main supervisor for Suzanne Millmark in work science at Karlstad University. Since a few years ago, I have been part of Forte's working and health committee, which is part of the annual open call, and since 2022 I am its chairman. At Dalarna University, I am today the chairman of the group that develops an interdisciplinary PhD program in social sciences and humanities.
Previous external assignments include member of the steering group for the construction project VillaZero in Borlänge, member of Ikano Bostad's steering group for cultural change and the "Hentverk" project, member of the steering group for collaboration between KTH and IVL (Swedish Environment Institute), one of the participants in the Center for Health and Medical Ethics (Karolinska Institutet , KTH and Stockholm University) advisory group. In my work at KTH, I had central assignments as responsible for the career support program for young faculty and the Rector's scientific adviser on equality and diversity issues.
