Background

I moved to Sweden in 2011, after living in Spain and the UK. 

I have a BA degree in English Studies, a postgraduate teacher’s degree in EFL/ESL, and an MA in English Applied Linguistics. I conducted my doctoral research at the University of Alicante (Spain) and the University of Warwick (UK) and earned my PhD in 2011. 

I joined Dalarna University in August 2021 and before that I worked at the Department of Languages and Literatures (University of Gothenburg), the Department of English (Stockholm University), and the Department of English (University of Alicante). I have also worked as an EFL/ESL teacher for primary and secondary school students. 

Teaching

I teach free-standing courses, as well as courses in English Studies and the Teacher Education Programme in English applied linguistics, academic English, and professional communication. 

I also collaborate with the Language Support Unit, where I offer individual support and workshops (e.g., Referencing in Academic Writing).

In addition, I have experience teaching commissioned courses (e.g., International Society for Experimental Biology, County Administrative Board, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control).

Research

My research interests include writing pedagogy (e.g., Academic Literacies) and workplace communication (e.g., communication in multilingual workplaces).
