Research Project: Assignments in Physical Education and Helath - what are the students supposed to know and what kinds of knowing are possible to develop?
This project aims to investigate different student tasks in teaching dances and movements to music. An assumption is that the different tasks that teachers construct constitute different teaching practices thus providing possibilities for developing different kinds of knowings. Previous studies show that what there is to know and learn in Physical Education and Health is unclear for students as well as teachers (Redelius, Quennerstedt & Öhman 2014, Larsson & Karlefors 2015). The knowing involved in the students’ doing when solving the different tasks will be analysed and described. Further, the characteristics of different teaching practices will be analysed and described thus providing possibilities to relate them to specific kinds of knowing in moving.
