The strategy also aims to promote Dalarna as an attractive place for establishment and investment in new technology and climate-smart solutions. Competence and Innovation Development in the Region
About the Energiinnovation 2.0 Project: The overall goal of the project was to develop the region in the direction of smart specialisation in energy-efficient civil planning and construction. This was one of the four areas in the agenda for smart specialisation in Dalarna and the area of energy-efficient civil planning and construction, and the Dalarna Strategy 2020 Crossroads innovative environments and entrepreneurship.
Project Timeframe: 2021 - February 2023
Funding: The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth with support from the European Regional Development Fund.
Benefits of the Project: Important efforts included promoting regional work with a gender perspective in the energy industry and creating collaboration with public stakeholders and networks. In the short term, the project led to increased awareness of renewable energy and new collaboration: long-term effects, meanwhile, included new knowledge and new forms of cooperation, which strengthen Dalarna’s position as a pioneer in the energy transition and raise the level of education in the region.
