Learning outcomes for the course
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- use literary gender theory and concepts such as gender, sexuality, identity and power by placing these in a wider cultural, social and aesthetic context
- present independent interpretations and analyses
- explain their own interpretations and analyses of the literary works as well as the texts on literary criticism and literary theory
- provide feedback on the written work of other students by way of constructive criticism and active participation in a critical debate
- from a critical perspective on power relations, evaluate and assess the representation of contemporary events using gender theory.
