Learning outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course the students should be able to:

  • demonstrate in-depth theoretical and methodological knowledge in a linguistic or literature area in the subject of French and the ability to reflect in an epistemological manner
  • demonstrate an understanding of the area‘s current research issues
  • integrate knowledge and analyze, assess and deal with complex phenomena and issues from a critical review approach
  • based on a problem independently search for, collect, critically evaluate and interpret and analyze relevant materials that will form the basis for a timely conducted study with high demands on theory, research links, scientific method, research ethics issues and referencing
  • take on board constructive comments from both teachers and other students and by their own constructive response, critically analyze and discuss others‘ scientific works and to independently defend their own thesis
  • express themselves nearly flawlessly, both orally and in writing in academic French with great linguistic precision.
