Learning outcomes for the course

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

Knowledge and understanding
  • give an overview of the transition from a linear to a circular economy for the benefit of sustainability and competitiveness
  • give an overview of the connections between the circular economy at societal, industrial and organisational levels
  • account for the relationship between the circular economy and the strategy and business model of industrial operations

Competence and skills
  • identify, collect relevant data about, evaluate and analyse the opportunities for circular resource efficiency of industrial operations
  • identify possible problems and shortcomings by analysing the resource utilisation rate of an industrial operation

Judgement and approach
  • reflect on the different conditions for the development of industrial operation’s with the circular economy as a means towards sustainability
  • reflect on the importance of participation and engagement in the development of a circular economy and its impact on learning and business development
