Italian C: Older Literature with Text Analysis

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • explain and discuss old Italian literary history and its most representative authors and genres
  • reflect on literary works and place them in literary, historical and cultural contexts, as well as in a wider comparative European perspective
  • apply literary terminology, concepts and theories
  • analyse and discuss scientific essays
  • in a manner that is stylistically adequate, write a short literary argumentative essay in Italian using established literary concepts with confidence.

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course. Web-based meetings with sound and image where simple presentations can be held. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online.
