The course includes study and literary analysis of selected works of fiction that provide insight into life and social conditions in northern Italy. The student is introduced to basic literary concepts and trained in applying these in text analyses. Through these works, the student also gets an orientation about the biographies of the authors as well as the historical, cultural and literary contexts that are relevant to the interpretation of the texts.

Mandatory, scheduled seminars are conducted online in a virtual classroom (no physical meetings). Participation requires internet connection, headset with microphone and headphones and webcam.
Surf on the Internet, read and send emails, use a word-processing programme (e.g. Word). Plug in peripherals to your computer, install programmes and adapt installations for your computer.
Access to a computer (Not a mini pc, tablet or similar) that is not older than two years (or equivalent) and broadband connection, at least 2 Mbit/s (not mobile broadband, because mobile broadband can vary considerably in speed).
Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course. Web-based meetings with sound and image where simple presentations can be held. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online.
Literature lists are published at the latest one month ahead of the course start date.
