Sustainable Manufacturing

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • understand the importance and necessity of sustainable manufacturing,
  • explore strategies for reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing including resource efficiency and waste reduction,
  • identify and discuss sustainable manufacturing practices and technologies,
  • understand the role of sustainable materials and renewable energy in sustainable manufacturing,
  • discuss the importance of the circular economy (remanufacturing, and recycling) for sustainable manufacturing,
  • analyse case studies of successful sustainable manufacturing initiatives.
