The course covers the role of the financial market in society; the differences of international dependency of a small open economy compared to a large economy; the short – and long-term interest rate including a detailed analysis of the transmission mechanism; the action and reaction as well as the functions of a central bank, and the effects of their policies under fixed and flexible exchange rate systems.
