Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • demonstrate in-depth knowledge of teaching Chinese grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary
  • independently perform teaching-related tasks such as assessment, preparation, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • demonstrate in-depth understanding of the role of teacher of Chinese as a foreign language
  • critically evaluate the internship experience in relation to their future professional role.

Course Content

In this course, students complete an internship during which they integrate their academic knowledge of the subject of Chinese in an environment that prepares them for future professional life. The course includes such work-related tasks as assessment, preparation, planning, implementation and evaluation. The course can serve to inspire students ahead of their upcoming degree thesis.

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–G.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Practical Tasks, Written and Oral Reflections, Written Report - 15 Credits | U–G

Prerequisites

  • Degree containing minimum 180 credits

The content of this course overlaps the content of the courses Chinese: Internship Term for Teaching in Higher Education, 30 cr and Chinese: Internship for Teaching in Higher Education, 15 cr.

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.

If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement. The examiner takes into account the objectives in the course syllabus when deciding whether the examination can be adapted in accordance with the decision/recommendation.
