Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- compare and problematise research results from a chosen theme within religious studies or a religious tradition
- systematically compile and discuss the state of research of the chosen theme or tradition
- critically discuss theories and methods used in studies of the chosen theme or tradition.
Course Content
The course involves the in-depth study of a theme within religious studies or a specific religious tradition with the help of literature that students choose in consultation with the teacher.

- Active seminar participation
- Oral presentations
- Written submissions
Grades
The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.
Grades are reported as follows:
- Reading course in Religious Studies - 7.5 Credits | U–VG
Prerequisites
- Religious Studies III 22.5 credits
Other Information
This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement. The examiner takes into account the objectives in the course syllabus when deciding whether the examination can be adapted in accordance with the decision/recommendation.
