Learning Outcomes
The overall goal is to acquire in-depth
knowledge about social work with people with disabilities, about their living
conditions, participation and rights in the society. Furthermore,
interdisciplinary theories and concepts within disability research are included.
Course Content
The course focuses on people with disabilities from a user, community and participatory
perspective. Living conditions for people with disabilities are studied based
on support systems, collaboration, laws and regulations. The UN Convention on
the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is addressed during the course, as is
current research in the field of disability. Ethical issues in the social work
with people with disabilities are discussed during the course.

Individual written home examinations, literature search and seminars

literature search, independent work and written assignments.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
Prerequisites
- 90 credits in Social Work or Social Care, including a thesis of 15 credits
