- describe a selection of theories and methods used for analysis in French linguistics
- identify a research question for the analysis of authentic linguistic data based on previous linguistic research
- carry out and present an analysis of authentic linguistic data using relevant linguistic methods
- discuss and give constructive feedback on the work of other students.
Course Content
The course provides an introduction to the linguistic analysis of authentic linguistic data and focuses on, for example, either language learning, discourse analysis or corpus lingiuistics. In the course students discuss current linguistic theories and methods and complete an independent analysis of language data based on their own questions.

Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
To achieve the grade of VG for the whole course, VG is required in both modules.

Module 1: Theories and Analysis Models - 4.5 cr
Module 2: Independent Linguistic Analysis - 3 cr

- French: Written Proficiency II, 7.5 credits; French Literature II: Up to 1900, 7.5 credits; French II: Introduction to Linguistics and Academic Writing, 7.5 credits and French: Spoken French, 7.5 credits or French: Culture and Society II, 7.5 credits
