Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

- give an overview of process-oriented business development from process concepts to evaluation models for process maturity
- describe the relationship between process oriented business development and the strategy and business model of an industrial operation

- research, collect data on, evaluate and analyse the processes of an industrial operation from a business development perspective
- identify possible problems and shortcomings through the analysis of process maturity and specific business development methods

- reflect on different conditions for business development from a customer-focused process orientation and sustainability perspective
- reflect on the importance of participation and engagement in business development and its impact on learning and business development
Course Content
The course covers process oriented business development that is used to influence and improve business processes from the financial, social and environmental perspectives of sustainability. Further, the course covers continuous improvement, process metrics, support systems and future challenges. The course highlights the process oriented organisation and its development opportunities through practical application in a process development project. Furthermore, the course covers evaluation methods and critical review of business processes.
