Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

• apply basic knowledge in the subject areas of training and competition theory to optimise the process of training and competition in powerlifting
• reflect on the basic principles of performance development and physical training in powerlifting
• solve specific tasks concerning the optimisation of the process of training and competition for different groups of active powerlifting athletes

Course Content

The course covers theoretical and practical methods for planning, implementing and evaluating training and competition processes in powerlifting. There is particular emphasis on the application of sports physiology and biomechanical research on the optimisation of the training and competition process. Special focus is placed on analysing powerlifting from a technical and tactical perspective with the aim of clarifying the work requirements of powerlifting.

Assessment

Oral presentations and written assignments.
