Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

  • explain central concepts within project-based operations
  • describe internal and external project communication

  • plan and complete collaborative projects using appropriate methods and tools
  • utilise communication channels and approaches that support collaboration
  • create advanced graphic artifacts with the intended technical, aesthetic and functional quality

  • critique project processes and results based on processes of influence and conflicts of interest
  • reflect on their own role and influence in a collaborative project
  • critically reflect on sustainable development and ethical considerations in relation to course content.

Course Content

The course delves into models for projects as a work method with focus on collaboration and communication. Students complete projects in which they apply selected models, methods and tools. This is followed by scrutinising, evaluating, reflecting on and constructively critiquing their own application as well as that of others. Students play an active role in projects involving various processes of influence and conflicts of interest. The course places importance on students’ reflections regarding the management  of the different project stakeholders.

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–G.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Continous Examination - 1.5 Credits | U–G
  • Continous Examination - 3.5 Credits | U–G
  • Projects - 10 Credits | U–G

Prerequisites

  • 60 credits in the main field of study Information Systems including the courses Dynamic Web Applications 7.5 credits, Interaction Design 7.5 credits and Visual Identity 7.5 credits

Other Information

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.

If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement. The examiner takes into account the objectives in the course syllabus when deciding whether the examination can be adapted in accordance with the decision/recommendation.
