Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and understanding

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • explain concepts, theories and principles related to IT and digital services,
  • explain how the development and use of IT affect individuals and businesses,

Competence and skills

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • write a scientific paper that is about with digital services based on identified criteria,
  • present and publicly review and discuss scientific work.

Course Content

The course deals with concepts and theories related to the field of IT. It also discusses how the development and use of IT affect society. The course includes an introduction to academic writing where students complete a scientific paper that focuses on the quality of a digital service. This work includes searching for, collecting, and summarising scientific literature as well as writing, presenting, and publicly reviewing and discussing scientific papers.

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–G.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Quiz (Theory) - 3 Credits | U–G
  • Assignment (IT development and IT use) - 1.5 Credits | U–G
  • Project (report and seminar) - 3 Credits | U–G

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
