Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the student should be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

  • Account forr the fundamental concepts, definitions, and relationships between e-society, e-governance, and  digital services.
  • Describe e-society’s new challenges and opportunities for residents, businesses, and organizations at different levels.

Skills and abilities

  • Through literature studies, analyze (conducted) case studies on e-society, e-government and digital services, and examine their technical and social aspects.
  • Identify the key factors contributing to successful e-governance.
  • Identify technical and methodological solutions to meet information system requirements in an e-society.
  • Apply scientific approaches to explore the potential of the e-society and address related problems.

Evaluation and approach

  • Evaluate different e-services solutions for specific sectors, considering the needs of diverse user groups and ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Analyse emerging technologies and predict their potential impact on the future of e-society and e-governance, considering challenges and opportunities.

Course Content

The coursedeals with understanding of how society, government processes, and service delivery have been transformed by digital technology. The course covers the fundamental concepts of E-society, E-governance, and digital services. During the course, the student analyzes different e-governance models, evaluates technologies, and critically assesses different digital services regarding design and usability. Furthermore, the student explores strategies for social integration, accessibility, and the legal and ethical implications of e-government and applies relevant technology in practical scenarios. The student also evaluates emerging technologies, conducts a literature review, and applies insights to a project.

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

The student must have received a VG on the last assignment to receive a VG on the course.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Assignment (concepts) - 2 Credits | U–G
  • Assignment (analyses) - 2 Credits | U–G
  • Assignment (project, oral presentation) - 3.5 Credits | U–VG

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
