Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will, in Italian, be able to:

  • in speech and writing describe aspects of Italian geography, history, culture and society
  • problematise and discuss simple issues concerning Italian society from a contrastive perspective.

Course Content

The course provides an overview of central aspects of Italian geography, history, culture and society. Emphasis is placed primarily on recent centuries through the study of selected non-fiction texts, newspaper articles and audiovisual material.

  • Written examination

Forms of Study

Obligatory seminars in which students must participate actively and interact with their peers. The language of instruction is Italian.

Grades

The Swedish grades U–VG.

To achieve the grade of VG in the whole course, students must achieve VG in the modules Written Examination and Written Assignments.


Reporting of grades:

  • Written Examination - 3 cr
  • Written Assignments - 2 cr

Prerequisites

  • General entry requirements and Italian 3. No knowledge of Swedish is required
