Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Name, describe and explain the basic functions of human cells and how cells interact in different types of tissues,
- Name, describe and explain the anatomy and function of the circulatory and respiratory system during the human life cycle.
Course Content
The course studies basic cell biology and how cells build up and work together in tissues as well as the appearance and function of the circulatory and respiratory systems. Furthermore, anatomical and physiological changes during a person‘s life are studied.

Grades
The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–G.
Grades are reported as follows:
- Cell, tissues and skin - 2 Credits | U–G
- Respiration and circulation - 4 Credits | U–G
Prerequisites
- General entry requirements and Mathematics 2a or 2b or 2c, Natural Sciences 2, Social Sciences 1b or 1a1 + 1a2
Other Information
This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement. The examiner takes into account the objectives in the course syllabus when deciding whether the examination can be adapted in accordance with the decision/recommendation.
