Learning Outcomes

Modules

1.
Special Education and Subject Didactics, 5 Credits

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • demonstrate knowledge of the different reasons for pupils‘ need for special educational provisions and of what is available to teachers when it comes to providing extra adaptations and special support in relation to school policy documents
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of different theoretical perspectives on special education by discussing and problematising how different perspectives have implications for the organisation of support in the educational process
  • demonstrate a basic knowledge of subject didactic research by summarising and discussing academic texts
  • demonstrate knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment in a subject area defined by subject didactics by developing teaching in one of the subjects that is included in their university degree
  • demonstrate knowledge of various digital resources in educational practice by reflecting on learning, assessment, communication and documentation in relation to special education and subject didactics
  • demonstrate the ability to write in a receptive and situationally appropriate manner and to participate constructively in discussions in academic contexts.

2.
Placement (VFU) 2, 10 Credits

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of subject didactics, special education and social relations in the teaching of their own subject
  • demonstrate the ability to plan, implement and evaluate teaching independently and in collaboration with others in relation to current policy documents and considered subject didactic choices, including extra adaptations, in order to stimulate the learning and development of both the group and each pupil in the best possible way
  • demonstrate the ability to use digital technology in teaching in an appropriate and critical manner, taking into account subject didactics and special educational needs
  • demonstrate the ability to analyse, discuss and reflect independently and critically on their own teaching and that of others, and to argue for the choice of content and working methods in their own teaching from a subject didactic and special education perspective
  • demonstrate the ability to cooperate and develop good relations with pupils and staff in educational activities in accordance with the school‘s values
  • demonstrate the ability to develop, on their own initiative, skills of value to their profession
  • demonstrate communication skills in listening, speaking and writing in support of pupils‘ learning processes and as part of cooperation with colleagues
  • demonstrate the ability to communicate ethically and consciously with pupils, both orally and in writing, about the aims of teaching, about what is being assessed and about how individual and group learning can be developed
  • demonstrate the ability to apply scientific method through observation.
