Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students shall be able to:
- understand clearly spoken Russian about familiar topics
- demonstrate an active vocabulary sufficient for communicating in the most common everyday situations
- initiate and actively participate in simple Russian conversations about familiar topics
- understand and recount the content of adapted Russian texts
- demonstrate a sufficient command of Russian pronunciation and intonation to make themselves understood
- identify and apply central aspects of Russian grammar in speech and writing.
Course Content
This course comprises continued study of Russian pronunciation, intonation, vocabulary and grammatical structures. Practical exercises in speaking, reading and writing are included, as is the study of Russian grammar. Particular emphasis is on communicative proficiency.
Assessment
Active participation in seminars, written assignments and a final written examination.
Forms of Study
English and/or Swedish are used as support languages, but Russian is used as the language of instruction as much as possible. Instruction is conducted in group activities and obligatory seminars.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
To achieve the grade of VG for the whole course, students must achieve aVG in both modules.

Module 1: Written Proficiency - 7.5 cr
Module 2: Oral Proficiency - 7.5 cr
Prerequisites
- Russian I: Basic Course 1, 7.5 credits and Russian I: Basic Course 2, 7.5 credits on First cycle. No knowledge of Swedish is required
