Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students shall be able to:
- initiate and actively participate in spontaneous conversations in Russian
- summarise shorter authentic texts of varying character and discuss the content of the texts
- understand a speaker who speaks standard Russian and the speaker‘s communicative intentions
- make themselves understood in conversations about contemporary society and its current issues.
Course Content
During the course, students practice their language skills such as speaking and listening comprehension. The course focuses on oral communication that is developed through group discussions based on a selection of authentic Russian audio and video material as well as authentic Russian texts of varying character. Discussions revolve around current issues concerning contemporary society.
Assessment
Active participation in seminars and a final oral examination.
Forms of Study
Russian is used as much as possible as the language of instruction, and Swedish and/or English are used as support languages. Teaching takes place in obligatory seminars.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
To achieve the grade of VG for the whole course, students must achieve the grade of VG in module 1.
Reporting of grades:
Module 1: Active Participation in Seminars, Oral Presentations - 7.5 cr
Module 2: Oral Examination - 2.5 cr
Prerequisites
- 60 credits in Russian, including the course Russian II: Oral Language Proficiency, 10 credits on First cycle. No knowledge of Swedish is required
