Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students shall be able to:
- explain different language styles of Russian
- explain the characteristic differences between standard Russian and the spoken language
- analyse regional and social variations of Russian
- transform spoken language texts into standard Russian and vice versa
- use relevant vocabulary, and grammatical and syntactic forms in different registers.
Course Content
The course includes study of social and regional differences in phonetics, grammar, and vocabulary. During the course, students practise the ability to master various language styles and analyse Russian texts from different genres and registers. Special attention is paid to oral presentation in Russian, where the emphasis is on academic language use.
Assessment
The course is examined through active participation in seminars and a final oral examination.
Forms of Study
Russian is used as much as possible as the language of instruction, and Swedish and/or English are used as a secondary languages. Teaching is in the form of obligatory seminars.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
To achieve the grade of VG in the whole course, students must achieve VG in module 1.

- 90 credits in Russian, including the course Russian III: Oral Language Proficiency, 10 credits at First Cycle
