Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students shall be able to:
- explain grammatical aspects of the Spanish language and describe structural differences between Spanish and Swedish
- use basic grammatical concepts to describe Spanish and Swedish language usage
- comment on and explain form theory and syntax in authentic texts
- explain and apply Spanish form theory.
Course Content
The course includes repetition of Spanish verb inflection patterns from previously acquired knowledge as well as a systematic review of basic parts of Spanish grammar with a focus on correct language usage. The course also includes application exercises that involve practice in explaining grammatical contexts, with a certain focus on the contrastive analysis of structural differences between Spanish and Swedish. This analysis includes exercises in translating from Swedish to Spanish.
Assessment
Written assignments, active participation in seminars, and a final web-based written examination.
Forms of Study
Lectures and obligatory seminars. The langauge of instruction is Spanish and/or Swedish.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
For a final course grade of VG, students must achieve a VG in both modules.

Module 1: Seminars, Online Test - 2 cr
Module 2: Seminars, Final Online Examination - 5.5 cr
