Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student shall, in Spanish, be able to:

  • reflect on basic methods used in literary and linguistic research
  • show familiarity with the formulation of scientific texts, which includes the formulation of basic issues, a critical review of previous research, a choice of method and theory utilization, as well as the design of his/her own scientifically based arguments
  • demonstrate the ability to think critically and be able to argue both orally and in writing
  • in the form of constructive response, analyze and discuss the scientific work of others by pointing out both the merits and the shortcomings of that work
  • produce his/her own shorter academic text in language that is close to being correct.

Course Content

The student reflects on different linguistics or literary methods. During the course, the student practices scientific writing in Spanish comprising the formulation of questions, critical thinking, methodology, theory and argumentation. He/she writes a short academic text in Spanish and critically examines another scientific text.
The language of instruction is Spanish.

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Seminars, written assignments - 6 Credits | U–VG

Prerequisites

  • 22.5 credits within the main field of Spanish, including the course Spanish I: Written Language Proficiency and Grammar, 7,5 credits

This course overlaps the course code SP1049.

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
