Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- demonstrate basic knowledge about scientific problem-solving: formulating aim and problem, choice of method and source material(s)
- independently plan, carry out and report a minor scholarly project
- sumarise, evaluate and discuss another degree project.
Course Content
The course has two modules, first an introduction to the basics of scholary work, thereafter an independent degree project. The student carries out their own minor degree project associated with practical music production. The project can either be reported as an essay or a technical report, depending on the character of the project. It can include a musical production.
Assessment
The course is examined by a written test (Module 1) and an essay or technical report, and a seminar, including both defense of the student´s own degree project and opposition upon a degree project written by a class mate (Module 2).
Forms of Study
Students take part in lectures and seminars, and are offered supervision.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
To get the grade "Väl godkänd" (Pass with Distinction) for the course, the student must have "Väl godkänd" (Pass with Distinction) on both modules.
Prerequisites
- At least 60 credits from the programme Music- and Sound Design
