Prerequisites
- General entry requirements and Mathematics 2a or 2b or 2c, Natural Sciences 2, Social Sciences 1b or 1a1 + 1a2
Summary in English
The overall aim of the course is that the student should have knowledge about the
structure and function of the healthy human body.
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- describe the basic functions of human cells and how they interact in various types of tissues,
- identify surface anatomical structures in selected regions of the body,
- describe the anatomy of the circulatory system, respiratory system and the immune system,
- describe the function of the circulatory system, respiratory system and the immune system under normal physiological conditions,
- search for relevant information, based on physiological issues related to the course content, discuss and resolve such issues and orally present this to a small group,
- explain and under supervision apply medical methods of examination related to the above mentioned systems on the basis of nurse‘s area of responsibility,
- perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
