Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate insights into classical sociological theory
  • Familiarize themselves with and compare different classical sociological movements
  • Critically discuss different classical sociological movements.

Course Content

The course covers the macro level of society based on classical sociological theory. It gives a comprehensive overview of central sociological perspectives, relationships between individuals and society, and theories of social change.

Assessment

Examination takes the form of oral and written presentations and a final written exam.

Lectures, seminars and exercises.
