Sustainable Solutions in the Energy Sector

Transitions within the energy system affect both large segments of society and people in the vast majority of situations. Therefore, knowledge, skills, and solutions are needed that ensure the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of future society. The Sustainable Energy Research Centre at Dalarna University aims to pave the way for the development that is required through collaboration between research and academia, and companies and public stakeholders.

In Sweden, the energy sector, including transport, accounts for 70 percent of total greenhouse gas emissions.

Platform for Collaboration

The Centre for Sustainable Energy Research (SERC) at Dalarna University has a wide network of contacts both in and outside the University and works on assignments and research and development projects in collaboration with the business community and society. Working in the centre are researchers and teachers in the energy and built environment research field at Dalarna University. Region Dalarna, the County Administrative Board of Dalarna, Dalarna Science Park, Byggdialog Dalarna, and High Voltage Valley are a few organisations that the centre works closely with.
