About Language Support

Language Support is available to help all students with their academic literacy skills. By academic literacy, we mean the ability to search for academic texts, use academic texts, and write academic texts.

Academic texts engage in dialogue with other texts; therefore, as a student, you need to understand and develop skills so that you can become an active participant in your studies. Language support offers you the means to develop your academic language skills so that you can become independent in your studies.

Language Support staff are experienced university teachers with specialised knowledge of academic writing:

  • We are actively involved in work at the university and recognise the central role of the student.
  • We understand education and learning to mean a process of gradual knowledge acquisition.
  • We can assist you so that you understand and learn how to approach your academic work.
  • We offer workshops, scheduled tutorials, and drop-in tutorials in both English and Swedish.

You have an active responsibility for your studies, and we are here to support you as you gain that responsibility in your academic work.
