In the One-Year Master's Curriculum there are six core components:

A number of optional courses (7 Credits each, two are chosen)

- Rethinking African Studies: Meaning and Content (AS4002, 7 Credits)
Fourth Term
- The Two-Year Master's Thesis in African Studies (AS4004, 30 Credits)
