I am an applied economist and do mostly empirical research. Individual behavior and choice have been a focus but have worked also with aggergate data. My main methodological approach is to depart from microeconomic theory and use econometrics to better understand individual and public choices. The areas of applications have been energy, transport and tourism demand, environmental aspects of production and consumption such as emissions, generation and management of waste and the relationship between income and health. A recent research interest has been certain public policy evaluation such as government subsidies to firms.
