Spanish II: Academic Writing

Starts week 36, 2024

Upon completion of the course, the student shall, in Spanish, be able to:

  • reflect on basic methods used in literary and linguistic research
  • show familiarity with the formulation of scientific texts, which includes the formulation of basic issues, a critical review of previous research, a choice of method and theory utilization, as well as the design of his/her own scientifically based arguments
  • demonstrate the ability to think critically and be able to argue both orally and in writing
  • in the form of constructive response, analyze and discuss the scientific work of others by pointing out both the merits and the shortcomings of that work
  • produce his/her own shorter academic text in language that is close to being correct.

Access to a computer (Not a mini pc, tablet or similar) that is not older than two years (or equivalent) and broadband connection, at least 2 Mbit/s (not mobile broadband, because mobile broadband can vary considerably in speed).

Means of Education:

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course, as are web-based meetings using sound and image. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online. Use more advanced programmes – for example, simulation programmes.
