Intercultural Literature Studies: One-Year Master’s Degree Thesis

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • demonstrate knowledge of methodology and theory as well as insight into current research issues within the field of intercultural literature studies
  • analyse and work with relevant phenomena and questions
  • develop a research question within the field intercultural literary studies and independently search for, collect, evaluate, and critically interpret and analyse, relevant information
  • complete an independent literary study of scholarly value within a set timeframe that is characterised by both a connection to current research, a competent application of method and theory as well as strong argumentation based on advanced literary analyses
  • orally and in writing present and argue for their own results in a way that demonstrates a high level of communicative competence
  • critically analyse and discuss the scholarly work of others in the form of constructive response.

  • Bachelor‘s Degree in Languages or Literary Studies of at least 180 credits. 22,5 credits at Second cycle within the main field of study of Intercultural Literature Studies, including the courses Introduction to Intercultural Literature Studies, 7,5 credits and Intercultural Literature Studies: Academic Writing, 7,5 credits

Surf on the Internet, read and send emails, use a word-processing programme (e.g. Word). Plug in peripherals to your computer, install programmes and adapt installations for your computer.

Access to a computer (Not a mini pc, tablet or similar) that is not older than two years (or equivalent) and broadband connection, at least 2 Mbit/s (not mobile broadband, because mobile broadband can vary considerably in speed).

Means of Education:

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course, as are web-based meetings using sound and image. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online. Use more advanced programmes – for example, simulation programmes.
