Learning outcomes for the course
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- interact in formalised Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in everyday situations
- read and answer questions in MSA about short and easy literary texts
- demonstrate a basic knowledge of the structure of the Arabic language and use this knowledge in both oral and written communication
- demonstrate some insight into the difference between standard Arabic and the different Arabic dialects
- demonstrate some insight into the development of the Arabic language.
