French III: Bachelor’s Degree Thesis

Starts week 36, 2025

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • collect material that is in French and that is relevant to linguistics, literature or language education for use in an academic study, and demonstrate theoretical knowledge of a few current research questions of choice in the same area of specialisation
  • demonstrate independence and the ability to solve problems, as well as a reflective approach
  • write a theoretical text in sound French where they use methods appropriate for their work with regard to good research practise and ethical principles and where they can search for and critically interpret relevant sources, as well as analyse and summarise their results
  • take into account and use different opinions from their supervisor and other students in order to work on their texts
  • analyse, discuss and critically evaluate another thesis in French in a constructive manner at the oral examination
  • reference correctly, quote correctly and provide a relevant bibliography
  • defend their degree thesis in French at the oral examination.

Surf on the Internet, read and send emails, use a word-processing programme (e.g. Word). Plug in peripherals to your computer, install programmes and adapt installations for your computer.

Computer Capacity:

Access to a computer (Not a mini pc, tablet or similar) that is not older than two years (or equivalent) and broadband connection, at least 2 Mbit/s (not mobile broadband, because mobile broadband can vary considerably in speed).

Means of Education:

Higher rate of web-based communication where our learning platform (Learn/Canvas) is a natural element of the course. Web-based meetings with sound and image where simple presentations can be held. Lectures can be broadcast live or can alternatively be made available afterwards online.
