Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the sexual and reproductive needs, development, health, and rights of adolescents and young adults from a global and sustainability perspective,
- discuss and reflect on how threats, violence, conflict, and climate change can affect the situation of adolescents and young adults in relation to SRHR
- demonstrate knowledge of and skills in quality improvement and development work as well as information retrieval with a scientific basis and critical evaluation of sources
Course Content
The course adopts a holistic approach towards the subject of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and includes health-promoting perspectives on SRHR for adolescents and young adults. The course covers various factors that affect SRHR and includes such subject areas as reproduction, andrology, gynaecology, sexuality, consent, societal norms, LGBTQ+ issues, functionality, gender, identity, relationships, risk behaviours, culture, violence, mental health, and the impact of climate change and conflict. The course has several modules that integrate a theoretical and reflective approach with global perspectives. Throughout the course and in relation to quality improvement and development work, students work with the retrieval of evidence-based information and the critical evaluation of sources.

Grades
The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–G.
U stands for Fail (Underkänd) and G stands for Pass (Godkänd).
Grades are reported as follows:
- Written individual assignment - 3 Credits | U–G
- Written individual report and on-line seminar - 2.5 Credits | U–G
- Individual reflection with an oral on-line exam - 2 Credits | U–G

Other Information
This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.
If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement. The examiner takes into account the objectives in the course syllabus when deciding whether the examination can be adapted in accordance with the decision/recommendation.
